The Initiation

The second flame is Payvand, The Union, the sacred joining of opposites.
After the first leap of flight, the seeker is drawn into the waters of the heart, where emotions are cleansed and the consciousness begins to taste the power of connection.

Payvand means bonding, union, weaving together. In this flame, the walls dissolve between self and other, shadow and light, masculine and feminine. Like the reflection in still water, it reveals the seeker’s true face, and wounds are transmuted into wisdom.

In the Mithraic Mysteries, this stage was known as Nymphus, the Bridegroom, the marriage of the soul with the divine, consecrated under the star of Venus. In alchemy, it is the Dissolution (Albedo): the hard crust of the ego softens and melts, preparing the heart for transformation. The Raven of the first flame reappears, no longer only as messenger, but as companion, carrying the hidden secret of union.

The music of this flame dwells in the mode of Homāyoun, with tender, descending phrases that breathe intimacy, longing, and reconciliation. Its frequency is 528 Hz,  the vibration of love and DNA renewal, harmonizing the seeker’s body and spirit with the essence of healing.

The initiation is lived through water rituals, tantric embrace, and ecstatic communion where boundaries dissolve, and the self is bathed in the current of union. This is the heart of ‘ishq-e bāṭin, the inner love, love as a divine alchemy.

To walk this flame is to become the Alchemist of the Heart: one who builds bridges, heals separation, and discovers that the deepest freedom is born when all opposites are united in joy.
