The Initiation

The first flame is Pāridan, The Flight, the beginning of the Path. Pāridan means “to fly,” and its totem is the black bird, messenger of the unseen, herald of transformation. Here, the seeker is called to break old patterns, shed false masks, and leap into the storm winds of the unknown.

This stage is Rebirth: the death of imposed identity, name, nationality, religion, and story, and the birth of the free soul. Like the Raven of the Mithraic mysteries, the initiate becomes a messenger between worlds. Through calcination (Nigredo), the ego is burned to ash so the true essence can emerge.

The music of this flame is carried by the Persian mode of Shur and Rāst-Panjgāh, ancient tonalities that stir longing and awakening. Its frequency, 432 Hz, resonates with the vibration of the Earth, aligning the seeker with the rhythm of creation. When sung, drummed, or played, these sounds call the initiate into trance, where the storm winds become wings.

The initiation is marked by ecstatic dance, shamanic drumming, and psychedelic journeying, the chaos that births freedom. At the end of this stage, the seeker receives a new name, joined with Aryamitra, as a seal of their rebirth.

To walk this flame is to embody the Fool who becomes the Messenger: innocent yet courageous, willing to leap into the unknown, trusting that the wind itself will carry them home.
